Bruce the Labrador puppy had no idea his life was about to change, and all it took was his first experience with a water sprinkler. A cute video from @zachdanielwx on Instagram shows the pup minding his own business in the yard, right up until he spots the sprinkler — the mysterious device that the little one decided he must examine right away. And so, he charges straight toward it, investigating like a tiny detective who just found his first paid case.

The Labrador puppy sniffs the nozzle and gently inspects it with his mouth, but then the sprinkler unexpectedly changes direction, catching Bruce off guard. Water cascades onto his head, and Bruce runs away.
He retreats a few yards — but right after he shakes off the shock, he immediately runs back in. The same thing repeats a second time — the water touches him, he sprints, he pauses, and then goes back in again — except this time, he sits for a moment and watches the sprinkler like it is a puzzle he really wants to crack.
Then he goes back to play with the nozzle. But then something changes in his puppy brain, and he decides he has had enough, as he runs across the yard, into the next one even, as if to say, “I am far too busy for this nonsense.”
The internet had the best time watching this back-and-forth. One viewer wrote, “Bruce is fearless,” while another noted, “Labs are water-magnet retrievers so this definitely checks out, in the cutest way.”
A third one saw the bigger picture, writing, “This rivalry has just begun.” And plenty of Lab owners chimed in with knowing smiles, with one commenting, “Lab pups have no idea how much they love water!”
